I will often come up with things that I want to blog about - usually in the morning when I'm hopped up on caffeine - but then I never get around to it. When I later actually go to blog, I'm too lazy to do it. One of these things is to analyze the song Come To My Window by Melissa Etheridge - and attempt humor.
For example:
-----
"I would dial the numbers just to listen to your breath."
Are you a pre-pubescent girl? Would you also have your best friend ask my best friend if I like you? And, if the answer is no, would you then attempt to slit your wrist with a spork?
"I would stand inside my hell and hold the hand of death."
So you went from prank calls to taking a trip to hell? That's a logical progression. And why are you holding death's hand? Are you trying to make me jealous? Death has feelings too and it is so mean of you to use him like that.
"Come to my window. Crawl inside, wait by the light of the moon. Come to my window, I'll be home soon."
You won't even let me use the front door? Like I'm some kind of animal? And you're not even home? You're probably out with death again, aren't you? I think I should just make this easy for you and let you and death figure out your relationship. Give me a call when you figure things out.

What do you think? Sometimes I think I'm kind of funny, but then I think I'm kidding myself. I usually amuse myself and I'm content with that. If there is anything I've learned from life it's that it's more important to obtain praise from yourself than it is to obtain praise from others.
I think those are the funny parts of the song. The suicide attempt with a spork was something that I witnessed in elementary school. I was pre-pubescent, but the girl with the spork pubesced quite early. She was upset over a break-up and was ready to end it all behind Mr. Henderson's portable. Quite romantic.

Very cute.
I think you should blog about the Band-Aid Christmas song now.
It is better to make yourself laugh than other people :) as Felipe likes to sing "So I hum to myself hmmmm and I laugh to myself hahahaha...."
