Underwear, Underwear . . .

I love The Great Muppet Caper and I especially love Charles Grodin in it. You can read how I feel about it in a previous post here. Here is a very funny clip from the movie:

Here are some more clips from the movie. Ah, the sweet 80s.

Okay, So maybe there aren't many of the videos. But in my search I found this. Trailers used to be so unattractive.

And now for some Annie fun. Go to 1:45 to see my favorite lines.

It's either life or nostalgia

So I am sitting in my backyard in the dark with my pups and my blackberry. There is something about sitting back here and looking at the stars that makes me feel nostalgic. It's a certain spot in my backyard where I feel almost invisible to the world. It's where we keep our trashcans and I'm sitting on a dirty sidewalk, but it feels rather enchanting nonetheless. I would love to get some kind of cot, so I could just lie here.

There is something about even the smallest events that become significant to a child. I remember being outside, not far from here, when I was young and looking at the stars through by brother's binoculars. The stars seemed so elusive as my hands weren't steady enough for me to stay focused on them. They would seemingly zoom in and out of the frame.

The puppies are restless for me to go inside. I assume this is because it's pretty much their d-i-n-n-e-r time. And they seem to also be thinking: This is where we're going to hang out? Really? Not in your room with your tivo and your laptop? Really? You want us to instead lounge around in the dirt? What are we animals?

When my sister first moved away from home, we missed each other a lot. She was only gone for three months, but we wrote to each other all the time. My favorite thing was when we would write remember lists and list the childhood experiences we remembered. Like: playing tennis against the garage door in the rain, staying up all night and reciting the sound of music from memory, when we were at vons with shannon and we were attempting to jump over rolls of wrapping paper like the chimney sweeps in mary poppins jumped over their broomsticks, when she wrote my 5th grade report on the civil war wherein the teacher gave me a C for plagiarizing, writing some other report for me in high school in exchange for a chocolate malt, writing a weird al-ish type song to the duran duran song rio about our cat (her name is pickles and she poops on the sand), when we would get in fights at the mall because she wanted to go to the disney store and I wanted to go to the dollar store, having an orange fight with sandy in the rain, having a spitting fight with sandy in the car, and (my absolute favorite) when we were in a fight and I bit her foot and she started hyperventilating.
